ASRC campaign: Let Them Stay

From the Asylum Seekers Resource Centre:

For more than a decade, people who survived the Australian Government’s offshore detention regime have been waiting for justice and certainty.

A report released by the Senate was an opportunity to finally deliver that – instead, it fell far short.

“One of the most damaging ongoing impacts is the continued uncertainty of my visa status. After enduring years of trauma, I am still living with fear and instability about my future.

Even now, as I try to sleep, the fear of being returned resurfaces.”

This is the testimony of someone who was previously detained on Nauru by the Australian Government.

The harm inflicted by the Government’s detention regime doesn’t end when you leave the detention centre. It follows you around, leaving emotional scars that last years after the gates close behind you.

Right now, more than 700 people who were evacuated from Nauru and Manus Island – some when they were just children – are still living in limbo.

Will you email your MP today and demand they Let Them Stay for Good?
