Australian Story episode

On Monday 13 July, ABC’s Australian Story will broadcast an episode called ‘Sky’s the Limit,’ which tells the story of Naima, Feisal and their CRISP Community Supporter Group, Hope for Eden.

No longer a pilot, CRISP (Community Refugee Integration and Settlement Pilot) is now a permanent part of Australia’s humanitarian program, though the intake under CRISP will come from the humanitarian visa numbers. The Government needs to be pressed to run CRISP separate from that humanitarian intake, not least because the community groups that engage with CRISP bear most of the cost of bringing refugees to Australia, rather than the Government.

This recent article in The Guardian is about one small community group in Melbourne. More than 1,000 refugees have been brought to Australia through CRISP.
