Enough is Enough

Join fellow BMRSG members in a vigil outside Susan Templeman’s Windsor electoral office at 10 am on Saturday July 19 to protest the ongoing mistreatment of refugees and asylum seekers both here in Australia and in Nauru and PNG.

There are at least 8,000 refugees in Australia on Bridging visas needing your support to advocate for their right to permanent settlement. Some of these have been in this limbo for 12 years. There are up to 30 men, many with serious mental health issues, abandoned by Australia in Port Moresby with no hope of resettlement, and there are up to 100 people, including children, similarly being held on Nauru.

The vigil will end at midday, with a plan (weather permitting) to picnic afterwards on the riverbank nearby.
