Blue Mountains Refugee Support Group will be again hosting some refugee women from Western Sydney with Rosemary Kariuki’s Cultural Exchange Program.

Rosemary Kariuki OAM is the multicultural community liaison officer for the Parramatta Police and since 2024 runs the Mama Rosemary Foundation. She specialises in helping migrants who are facing domestic violence, language barriers and financial distress. Her work was the subject of the documentary, Rosemary’s Way.

The weekend will be held on the 7th, 8th and 9th of November and we are looking for people to offer to billet the women, which would also mean some involvement in the weekend.

We have lot’s of activities and events planned including a communal dinner on the Saturday night cooked by the women, morning tea on Saturday at Everglades and a tour of The Gully on Friday,
