Art with Heart Blue Mtns 4 Palestine is a Community art exhibition, art sale and art workshops, co-woven by over 40 artists from the Blue Mountains and beyond to raise funds for Community Care Kitchen and Christian Palestinian Organisation, both of whom are working tirelessly to support displaced Palestinians who are arriving in Western Sydney, most of whom have not been granted humanitarian visas.
The exhibition is endorsed by #MountainsForPalestine, #FamiliesForPalestine and the Blue Mountains Refugee Support Group.

Kumari Abeydeera, decolonial artist, activist and PhD scholar, invited her local creative community to donate an artwork to this cause and was blown away when over 40 artists responded in 24 hours. Artists include Blake prize winner Eddie Abd, Fisher’s Ghost finalist Harold David, Emily Hunt who has a solo exhibition at the art gallery of NSW later this month, Palestinian artist Dana Albattrawi, First Nations artist and illustrator Charmaine Ledden-Lewis and artists from the Refugee Art Project (Ashfield), to name just a handful of the talented people who have generously donated work to this collective exhibition. All works will be sold for $200 each to ensure the event is more accessible…a steal when the work of these artists is selling for thousands in their respective galleries.

All funds collected will be split between the two charities named above. The exhibition will be on Saturday the 29th June, from 2-4pm at the little white church hall / Presbyterian Church, Blackheath community and neighbourhood centre, 123-125, Wentworth street, Blackheath.

There will also be art workshops for the whole family. Come along and collect art for a good cause, get creative in the beading, mending and clay workshops, and gather with our Blue Mountains Creative Community.
