It’s cricket season again

There is a great deal happening on the BMRSG supported cricket front.

Currently 6 men are playing for Wenty Leagues in grade cricket on Saturdays. This is only possible as we were successful in be awarded another Clubs Grant thanks to the amazing support Wenty Leagues Club has given to the Ocean 12 men.

Noeline Nagle said “Already this season we have had one of the men get a hat trick…he actually got 5 wickets for the game. The last wicket in the hat trick was as a result of a superb catch . These men have become a great team, full of enthusiasm and determination.”

They play as OCEAN 12 on Sundays. ( Summer Comp ) As yet they are undefeated and showing good form. Noeline says “Its all hard work now as the men get ready to take on the World at the Nationals in the Gold Coast in November.”

Anne-Marie and Noeline have their flights booked and accommodation sorted BUT the men are hiring a van and driving up. This is possible due to Peter Fitzsimons, STARTTS and some wonderful individuals who have been very generous.

Noeline says “The greatest joy for Anne-Marie and myself has been the men’s ability to take control. We both couldn’t commit to the winter competition, which the men took it in their stride and completed the winter season with pride. They made the finals and most of all got themselves to the game.

We have appointed a manager from the team and he is doing an amazing job. Its not easy getting to and from grounds scattered around the Western Suburbs with no public transport.
This was always our goal……The men taking responsibility for the team. In under 2 years they have achieved this.”

On Sunday they will be playing at Monty Bennett Oval ( Wenty Leagues Ground, Cumberland Hwy and Great Western Hwy) at 1.20 pm. Everyone is welcome. Come and support this amazing winning team.
