Ocean 12 a hit at the Nationals

Ocean 12 were definitely the crowd favourites at Runaway Bay on the Gold Coast. Their athleticism, good sportsmanship and constant happy smiles won the heart of so many. They made it to the quarter finals ( lost by 7 runs) but certainly won the popularity polls.
A very loud cheer squad was on hand to give them all the encouragement possible. Yes,they were disappointed and for a time the smiles faded . However they bounced back and started planning for next year.
Noeline Nagle, who started this team said

“The Gold Coast was a dream come true. Anne-Marie and I still can’t believe we made it and to top it off we did very well.

Now the team is back on home ground and playing in the first summer semi final Sunday week.  Their confidence is at an all time high and their positive attitude is reflected in their everyday life. They are gradually getting work rights and many will likely move to the country. They are definitely better equipped to tackle this journey with the Ocean 12 experience behind them.

We have several players registered with Wenty Leagues Cricket and their success has been a topic of conversation
within the cricket circles and beyond. It’s always their enthusiasm and energy that proves to be impressive. They are a team in the truest sense.

When we took on the cricket project we wanted to allow them the opportunity to be independent. Like all “parents” we have to face the facts that we need to step aside and allow them to make their own decisions . Without doubt they will make good choices and like us Ocean 12 will always be in their hearts.
It’s time to think of our next project !

Thanks so much to all our supporters.”
