Vale Judy Gaskin
It is with deep sorrow that we advise that last Tuesday 15th October, our refugee support group lost one of our long-term members, with the death of Judy Gaskin at Morven Gardens Aged Care at Leura. Judy was a dedicated and tireless worker for the cause, and a compassionate friend to many asylum seekers and refugees. She visited Villawood Detention Centre fortnightly from 2003, as well as supporting asylum seekers at court and tribunal hearings and those who were released into the community. In 2011 ill-health meant she could not continue to do this work, but she maintained her interest in and concern for the work of our group.
We will miss the contributions she made to the work of the BMRSG.
